Larissa - CVT
I went to the Medical Institute of Minnesota now called Argosy University
and graduated as a Veterinary Technician in 1999. I started as an
intern and have been employed at Bloomington Veterinary Hospital as
a Certified Veterinary Technician ever since! My responsibilities
include participating in the management team and supervising the CVT/technicians,
assistants and kennel staff. I also have a special interest in emergency
medicine. I live in Shakopee with my two cats Logan and Lexie. I definitely
have a soft spot for white kitties.

After attending a few years at a 4-year college I finally came to the
realization that I needed a career I loved. So when it came time to
figure out what I should do as a career it was the simplest decision
I have ever made, a Veterinary Technician. After completing school I
started at BVH as an intern from Globe College in July 2003, I then
graduated and continued working at BVH. Now I am on the Management Team
and help supervise all the CVT/Technicians, Assistants and Kennel staff.
The rewards from working with animals are endless, from the happy go
lucky lab that just needs a nail trim to the hit-by-car kitty you help
do CPR and then nurse back to health, every lick and purr is the only
thanks you need. This animal/human bond is why I believe in and love
my career. Denver, a mantle Great Dane who is 15 months old that we
got from a breeder in Idaho as a puppy, Bo, a black Great Dane who is
17 months old that we got from Great Dane Rescue of Iowa when he was
9 months old and last but not least, Nala, a tortoise shell kitty who
is 4 years old that I got from the Golden Valley Humane Society when
she was 12 weeks old. We have a very fun household and enjoy spending
our spare time playing/walking our dogs, home improvements, family activities
and traveling. I am also a member of the Heart
of Minnesota Great Dane Club.

I grew up on a hog farm south of LeSueur, MN. I graduated from Argosy
University in 2005 and began my career as an intern at Bloomington
Veterinary Hospital. I live in Shakopee with my fiance Michael, our
two cats, Harley and Schmidty, and our pitbull Sage.

Diabetic Care Coordinator
In 2002 I decided once and for all that I did not like the career
I was in and set in motion a plan that would take me back to school
and set me on track to become a veterinary technician. It was a bit
scary, but the time had come for a change. It took me awhile, but
in late 2005 I graduated from Argosy University and completed my internship
here at BVH. After completion of my internship, I was hired on here
as a technician and I am so grateful to have made such a wonderful
change to my life! What a joy it is to have work that I am so passionate
about! In January of 2006 I took and passed the state and national
exams, which allow me to use the title of CVT, Certified Veterinary
Technician. I take particular interest in working with diabetic pets
and helping their owners learn about the disease and the care needed
to keep their pet healthy. When not working, I like to read, hike,
bike, snowshoe, and do stained glasswork. My boyfriend Steve and I
like to travel and share a fondness for the beautiful North Shore
area of Minnesota. I live in St. Louis Park with my spoiled, bossy,
and diabetic(currently in remission) cat Trixie. I consider myself
blessed to have such a good life.
Amy - CVT
I graduated from the U of M in 1996 with a BS in Child Psychology and
spent the last 13 years working in childcare, which I still do on a
part time basis. In 2003 I went back to school and received my Veterinary
Technician degree from Argosy and passed my certification test in 2006.
I began my internship here in the fall of 2005 and I was hired on as
a technician. I grew up in Richfield and now live in Apple Valley with
my kitties Calli, Charlie and Casey who are VERY spoiled! In my spare
time I like to travel (when I can - most exciting places I've been are
Italy and Korea), go for walks, read, cook, scrapbook and do some needlepoint.
Steph - CVT
I have been working at Bloomington Veterinary Hospital since 2005. I
worked part-time as a veterinary assistant while pursuing my Veterinary
Technician degree at Argosy University. I graduated in May and performed
my internship at the UofM. I am excited to be working full time at BVH
again. Izzy and Kazi are my two cats that are sisters from the same
litter. They are my first experience with cats and I love it.
Alexis - CVT
I grew up in Delano and attended the Minnesota School of Business for
Veterinary Technician. I came to BVH in April 2007 to begin my career
as an intern and then a full time employee. I love the outdoors and
taking my dogs Nieka (min pin)and Peyton (mini dachsund) for walks with
my new husband. She is the first dog that I have owned myself along
with our new puppy Peyton. Growing up with my younger sister, my family
had 2 cats and one dog. I have wanted to work with animals since I was
little, so I am very excited to finally be here.
Marcus - Technician
I have lived in Bloomington for over 30 years. I have been working at BVH since 1990. I have also worked at the Bloomington Animal Shelter and The Wagon Wheel, a horse boarding stable. I was voted employee of the year in 2005. I have a cairn terrier named Tobias, a ferret named Clark, 2 corn snakes, and a king snake.
Josh - Overnight Technician
I began working at Bloomington Veterinary Hospital in August of 1999.
I'm originally from Eagle River, WI where I worked at a veterinary
clinic from 8th grade up until I graduated from high school in 1996.
I went to UW-River Falls and then moved to the Twin Cities in 1998.
I've worked the overnights at BVH ever since I was hired by Dr. James
Sweeney. I like the responsibility that affords me and the fact that
I have gained the trust of my co-workers and clients to care for and
monitor their patients and your pets. I feel that our twenty four
hour nursing care is something that separates us from other clinics
in the Twin Cities area. I pride myself on treating every animal I
have the opportunity to care for as if it were my own.
This works out well for me since all of my pets (two dogs & two cats)
live on Marco Island, in Florida, therefore I live vicariously through
other peoples pets. When not working at BVH, I enjoy spending time
with friends and family, cheering on my favorite sports teams, cooking,
and traveling.
David - Veterinary Assistant
I am currently attending Normandale Community College to pursue my
degree as a Veterinary Technician. I started working at BVH in January
2006 because of my love for animals. I have lived in Minnesota all
of my life and fishing is my favorite thing to do when I am not at
work. My nickname is Sweetie and if I could fly a rocket ship to the
moon, I would!
Cassie - Veterinary Assistant
My name is Cassie and I'm a veterinary assistant at BVH. I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin. I moved to Minneapolis in 2004 to attend the University of Minnesota, but soon decided my calling was to work with animals. I am currently attending Minnesota School of Business studying veterinary technology. I have two pets, Andre a beagle and Manny a longhaired cat. I enjoy working at BVH, and helping to make your pet's stay with us as enjoyable as possible.
Janelle - Veterinary Assistant
My name is Janelle and I started as a part-time veterinary assistant
in March 2007. I grew up on a farm in Elkton, SD and later attended
SDSU for a year and a half in animal science. I relocated to the Twin
Cities and currently attend Argosy University studying the veterinary
technician program. I have a cat named Bo that I adopted for the Brookings
Humane Society. For as long as I can remember the only career that I
was interested in involved animals. It is a great pleasure to work at
BVH and meet your pets.
Linda - Kennel Assistant
I was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am the youngest and only
girl of four. One brother passed away. My family moved to Minneapolis
in 1959 when I was 2 1/2 years old. We lived about 2 blocks from the
University of Minnesota and moved to Bloomington in 1969. I went to
Kennedy High School and graduated in June 1974. My first pet was a
toy poodle named Penny. I purchased her with the money my grandparents
gave me on my 10th birthday and I had her for about 12
years. I love animals which is why I started working at BVH in October
of 2003. I have a 28 year old son, Douglas II and a cat, Simba Jr.
In my spare time I enjoy playing on my bowling league and spending
time with animals.
Erin - Kennel Assistant
I started working at BVH in December 2006. All of my life I have lived with animals and enjoy the company they bring us as pets and friends. This is the main reason why I love what I do now! Every day that I come to work, I get to interact with you the owners and your pets, letting you know that they are in good hands and great care by our staff during their stay. I love cats and dogs but have a lot of interest in exotic animals. Some pets that I have had in the past include rabbits, hamsters, fish and birds. In my free time I enjoy music, movies, reading, relaxing, and a little bit of handy work fixing just about everything.
